Top-Level CAD
As soon as we began designing, we kept manufacturability, packaging, usability, and cost in mind. Given these considerations, a cheap, durable, laser cuttable material was optimal. For us, the obvious choice was to use 1/4" duron in as many structural locations as possible. For aesthetics, we used acrylic for the hand cut-out and the alien windows.

Linear Servo Gearbox
One of the main features of our game is the linear up-and-down movement of corn that the user "grows."
We were able to achieve this behavior by coupling a 180 degree servo to a 3D-printed PLA rack and pinion assembly. These components were printed on a Stratsys F370 3D printer in the Stanford Product Realization Lab. |
